The MB-2 is an indoor unit that can be used either with or without a boundary wire.
MB-2 Dual Function FAQs
- What is the light on the transmitter?
The status light on the transmitter lets you know if the transmitter is turned on. If the light is red, the battery needs to be charged. When using a boundary wire with the MB-2, the status light glows green only when there is a continuous signal loop. See the Owner’s Guide for additional information.
Note: The green light may be steady green or blinking green. This depends on the frequency setting of the transmitter.
- How do I increase and decrease the signal range (the distance the signal radiates from the transmitter or the boundary wire) to make the “off-limits” avoidance zone area larger or smaller?
On the back of the transmitter, there is a signal range knob.
- Turn the knob toward the ‘+’ or ‘Max’ to increase the signal range. This increases the size of the signal field.
- Turn the knob toward the ‘-’ or “Min’ to decrease the signal range. This decreases the size of the signal field.
- How large can I make the “off-limits” area?
The MB-2 can be adjusted up to a maximum of 13 feet in diameter (6.5 feet in all directions from the transmitter). See the Owner’s Guide for additional information.
- Can I use the MB-2 outdoors?
No, the MB-2 is designed for indoor use only. If you are looking for a portable pet fence that can be used outdoors, check out our MB-1 Indoor/Outdoor Wireless Dog Fence. Or if you are looking for a pet fence to give your dog or cat freedom in your yard, check out our wired underground Outdoor Hidden Fences.
Important: Do not set the transmitter on or near large metal objects.
